Song of the Day (Covers): The Futureheads – Hounds Of Love

Day 13. The Futureheads cover of Kate Bush’s hit Hounds of Love is, in my opinion, one of those rare covers which far surpasses the original version. I expect to receive some flack for saying this, and hell, maybe I even deserve it.

The Futureheads take Bush’s wilfully weird Baroque Pop & transform it into exciting, harmony-laden, angular Post-Punk energy. Those amazing vocal harmonies are the reason I prefer it over the original I think.
